Toronto Neighbourhood – Forest Hill

The Toronto neighbourhood of Forest Hill is one of Toronto’s more prestigious areas.  The neighbourhood includes a small area North of Eglinton Avenue near Bathurst Street, however, traditional borders include Eglinton Avenue to the North, St. Clair Avenue West to the South, Bathurst Street to the West and Oriole Parkway to the East.   Forest Hill is home to some of Toronto’s most sought after homes and schools and has charming roads, parks and greenery.

Forest Hill in the early 1900′s had bylaws in place that stated all houses be designed by an architect and that a tree be planted in the front of each property.  Driving through Forest Hill today residences and visitors can enjoy the legacy previous village planners have left behind.  Today average housing prices in Forest Hill start in the mid $800,000′s and well exceed $1,000,000.

The Forest Hill Village is a well known shopping district at the intersection of Spadina Road and Lonsdale Road that caters to the affluent needs of it’s residences.  The Eglinton West Village shopping area has a larger variety of stores that can suit the taste and budget of many.

Forest Hill is located within walking distance to a number of TTC bus routes and TTC streetcar routes.  The Allen Expressway is also nearby.
