Toronto Neighbourhood – St. Lawrence
The St. Lawrence area was developed in the 1970’s by the City of Toronto to be a mixed-use neighbourhood, where to this day has proven to be a success in urban planning. The boundaries are Front Street East to the North, the Gardiner Expressway to the South, Parliament Street to the East and Yong Street to the West.
Within the St. Lawrence community is the St. Lawrence Market, a local staple for purchasing fresh fruits and veggies, fish, organics, fresh pastas, meats and cheeses. The South Market is known as the “farmers” market and is open on Thursdays and Saturdays where the North Market is open all week long.
The St. Lawrence neighbourhood is home to the David Crombie Park, which runs along The Esplanade, and the St. Lawrence Community Recreation Centre (the facility includes; swimming pool, gymnasium, squash courts, piano room, weight room and games room).

St. Lawrence is within walking distance to Union Station where residents and visitors have quick access to the TTC, Go Transit and Via Rail. As well, the Gardiner Expressway, Lake Shore Boulevard and the Don Valley Parkway are all easily accessible and located close by.
