Wychwood Park

Toronto Neighbourhood – Wychwood Park

Wychwood Park consists of approximately 60 homes, tucked away in a private ravine setting, located just North of Davenport Road in between Bathurst Street and Wychwood Avenue and South of Alcina Avenue.

Wychwood Park has a very unique community, as it has its own executive council that overseas private roads and parkland within the Wychwood Park boundaries.  Each home owner in the community contributes to a special tax that provides them with this privacy and control.

All of the houses in Wychwood Park are listed on the Toronto Historical Board’s Inventory of Heritage Properties. A small handful of the homes were built in the late 1800′s, however, most were built between 1906 – 1935.  Another small handful were built in the early 1950′s.  Eden Smith designed many of the older homes in Wychwood Park, and Smith’s style of English Arts-and-Crafts-homes is evident throughout the community.

Located in the South end of Wychwood Park is Taddle Creek pond, where you can watch wildlife in the summer time and skate in the winter time.  Located nearby the Taddle Creek pond are tennis courts.
